Rhodium plating
Plating is a process by which a thin layer of metal is electrolytically attached to another metal so that the former takes on the appearance of the second.
Rhodium plating is a common process in the jewelery industry and is used, among other things, to improve the color of 14k and 18k white gold which is otherwise rather beige-yellow. Rhodium is a bright white metal from the platinum family with excellent corrosion resistance.
At LARYA, we rhodium plate all our 14k and 18k white gold jewelry and also all our 925 silver jewelry, because we want to slow down their natural tarnishing and offer superior quality. Also, with daily wear and tear, it's normal to have to refresh the plating as needed. Contact us if you think you need a touch-up.
