Care guide for your jewelry
Now that you have your own LARYA fine jewellery, you need to know how to maintain and care for it so that it keeps its beauty for as long as possible. With this guide, you will learn how to keep them clean and in good shape.
Behaviors to have and avoid
LARYA jewels are precious objects made with durable high-end materials. However, even with the superior quality of their craftsmanship, they are not indestructible and need to be treated with some level of care. Without falling into obsession of course!
To do
- Store your jewelry in its velvet pouch when you are not wearing it.
- The best way not to lose your jewelry is to wear it.
- Clean your jewel to enjoy its beauty to the fullest and avoid the accumulation of stubborn dirt deposits.
To avoid
- Avoid wearing your rings when lifting heavy objects or working out at the gym. Large enough weights could deform your rings. In general, limit the forces and pressures applied to your jewelry.
- Avoid hitting, bumping and dropping your jewellery. Like an iPhone that falls against the corner of a table, there are some unforgiving falls! Shocks in general do not mix well with jewelry.
- Pay attention to abrasions. Nail files will scratch polished metals and some stones.
Cleaning
Here are the steps we recommend for cleaning gold and silver jewelry with or without fine and precious stones with household accessories. The idea is to remove the dirt without damaging the metal finish or the stones.
- Soaking: To soften dust and residue buildup, soak jewelry in a solution of hot tap water and dish soap for 5-10 minutes.
- Brushing: To dislodge impurities, with a soft-bristled brush, an old toothbrush for example, rub your jewel gently. Insist in the cavities and under the stones. Repeat this step as needed.
- Rinsing: To remove soap and cleaning residues, rinse your jewelry with plenty of water. Pay attention to the sink hole! Put the cap on before you start rinsing.
- Drying: To avoid water marks from air drying, blot your jewelry with a soft microfiber cloth.
- Voila: After these steps, your jewelry should shine like new!
If you fancy a bit more thorough cleaning, you can also substitute step 1 for soaking in an ultrasonic cleaner , which is a machine that sends vibrations through the cleaning solution to mechanically lift dirt. Please note that this device can break certain fine stones and must be used with caution. None of the LARYA stones are negatively affected by ultrasound.
With these recommendations in mind, you can fully appreciate the beauty and durability of your jewelry. Above all, contact us if you have any questions, we will accompany you.
